TULSA’S TOP DOCTORS + STATE OF THE ART FACILITIES =
THE BEST SURGICAL CARE IN THE AREA

Chief of Staff
Bariatric and General Surgeon

Dr. Crapse began his surgical bariatrics in 1999 when as a senior surgical resident he spent three months of training, assisting, and performing both open and laparoscopic roux-en-Y gastric bypass procedures. Dr. Crapse was the first assistant on the very first laparoscopic roux-en-Y gastric bypass performed in Oklahoma. Few people realize that most weight loss surgeries have a gastric sleeve or some modification of it included in the procedure. Dr. Crapse has performed gastric sleeve surgeries for both gastric and esophageal cancers throughout his career.

By 2006, Dr. Crapse was both performing and teaching surgical residents at then Tulsa Regional Medical Center now Oklahoma State University Medical Center the roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery. Recently, Dr. Crapse spent time in Dallas, Texas, with former University of Baylor surgical trainer Dr. Nick Nicholson, M.D. learning their “tricks of the trade” for the gastric sleeve procedure. Dr. Crapse has now brought their insight from over 7,000+ gastric sleeve surgeries to help Oklahomans in their fight of obesity.
